Describe a place near water. You should say:

– where this place was

– what you did at this place

– who you went there with

– and explain why you liked this place.

Last summer, my family went on a vacation to Cat Ba island, which is located in Hai Phong city and I was really impressed with the beach there.

To arrive at this destination, we had to take a ferry from the mainland, a journey which lasted roughly one hour. Fortunately, I was not seasick. When we reached there, to be honest, the scenery appealed to me a lot, especially the beach. The beach itself was absolutely breathtaking and the crystal clear water seemed to stretch endlessly to the horizon. In addition, from a distance, huge waves were crashing onto the shore, which sounded like a melody. I was so excited that I just wanted to jump into the sea right away.

On the beach, many people were enjoying the scenery, and some were swimming while their children were making sand castles. My family quickly checked into the hotel, we changed our clothes and joined the people there.

Actually, this vacation gave me the chance to relax and all my worries seemed to fall away. Therefore, I hope that we will be able to enjoy more holidays like this every year.

Describe a water sport you would like to try in the future. You should say

- What is it

- Where you will do it

- Whether it is easy or difficult

- Why would you like to try it

I’m going to talk about snorkelling, which is quite popular nowadays but for some reasons, I haven’t had the chance to try. So you can do this sport pretty much everywhere provided that there’s a body of water, preferably a beach with some beautiful submarine landscape.

I’ve heard that the ideal place to go is Coron island where there’s gorgeous coral. If you can afford overseas travel, there’s plenty to choose from, like the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.

The equipment required for this sport is quite simple. You just need a snorkel to help you breathe underwater. It is better to wear a mask to prevent water from coming into your eyes and fins to swim faster.

I think that there are only certain areas off a beach where you can safely dive. And also we should not get too far away from the shore or the boat. Anyway, I think I’ll try this sport sometime this summer when it gets too hot in the city.
