2. Cue card và bài mẫu thường gặp về Describe a place

Describe a place you have visited in Vietnam

My first visit to Nha Trang, the coastal city, was three years ago. It was a pleasant and memorable trip.

Nha trang, the capital of Khanh Hoa province, has one of the most popular municipal beaches in all of Viet nam. In Nha Trang, nature beauties are so tempting. Waves crashing onto the cliffs, the soft sigh of the sea breeze, clean white sands and turquoise waters, it all makes for a stunning landscape.

On my visit to Nha Trang, I used to get up early each morning to stroll along the beach - a chance to breath in the fresh sea air and enjoy the sunrise across the water. One attraction that captivated me three years ago and still it does is the collection of small offshore islands, that is Hon Tre where is the largest of the islands.

Nha Trang is the city in hamoney, its fine wather, favorite position and friendly people bring it a certain balance. Nha Trang is a great holiday destination. I hope to have chance to come back

Describe a place which  is important to you. You should say:

- where the place is

- how you get there

- what it looks like

- and explain why you like this place and often go there.

I like to go to many different places depending on my mood. Today, however, I’m going to tell you about a special place near to where I live. I will explain where it is and how I get there. I will try and describe what it looks like and explain why I like the location so much.

I am lucky, although I live in a city, from my house I can walk to the edges of the Peak District, which is a beautiful national park just a few miles from the city centre. To get to the national park I have to walk from my house down some local roads, and up a steep hill past some allotments. After about a mile or so striding out away from the urban areas, I get to a lovely bit of woodland which has a public footpath you can follow onwards and upwards. It can be a bit of a scramble towards the end of the path as it is very steep indeed, but eventually, you leave the woodland and are on the edge of open farmland. Another footpath crosses some sheep-filled fields, and finally, you are on the moors of the Peak District. It is really spectacular.

The Peak District can be a really wild place, with its vast expanses of open moorland. You are high up, and it is quite exposed so it can be very windy and cold even in the summer. There are rocky outcrops and strange configurations of stones that have been weathered by centuries of wind and rain to create dramatic shapes. Some boulders are in piles, and there are steep vertical cliffs too. The area attracts lots of people who like walking, climbing and bouldering because of its unique and beautiful landscape. Everywhere is dark wet peat underfoot and lots of heathers. This is a low growing plant that flowers at the end of the summer turning the whole landscape purple. The park covers a huge area, I think around 555 square miles, so the terrain differs from area to area, of course, I am biased, but I believe I live near the most remarkably beautiful part.

I love this place because if ever I am feeling down, or a bit enclosed, in just an hours walk I can find myself in a deserted but picturesque place, where the elements are more extreme. In winter rain and wind can batter you, but in summer the sky seems to go on forever. Every day is different up there, and every hour of every day too. The area is so huge, that often you can have it all to yourself, of course, there are other walkers about, but you can quickly disappear in the vastness of the space. The people who live in Sheffield, like me, are very proud that we are so near to the Peak District National Park, and it is no surprise it became the United Kingdom's first national park on 17 April 1951. A birthday that should be celebrated I think!

Describe a place you remember well that is full of colors. You should say:

- What it is

- Where it is

- How it looks like

- And explain why you remember it well

When it comes to a place which impressed me with tons of different colors, the first one coming to mind is the Flower Park in Da Lat city, which is located in the central high land of Vietnam and is about one-hour flight from Danang city.

I have to say that Da Lat is known as the city of a thousand of flowers. In this city, a wide variety of flowers bloom throughout the year, but especially in February. And of course, the Flower park is the most popular place for locals and tourists to admire the beauty of Da Lat flowers.

Located at the end of Xuan Huong lake, the park covers more than 7,000 square meters.

The Da Lat Flower Park showcases Vietnam’s biggest collection of flowers-comprising hundreds of species with a wide variety of colors, such as red, yellow, orange, pink, or even blue, and their shades. Hydrangeas, orchids and roses and many other flowers make this city a kingdom of flowers.

This Park attracts a large number of visitors every day. The park’s arched gate is naturally decorated with colorful flowers. Along the paths in the park are fountains and pine trees. Besides, there are carts covered with flowers going around the park to delight the visitors.

Natural flowers harmonize with man-made architectural features.

There are some reasons why the memories about this place are still vivid in my mind. The first one is obviously its beauty. To be honest, I had never seen any place with such a wide variety of colorful flowers in my life although I had travelled to many cities in Vietnam and other foreign countries. The first time I entered this park, I was truly blown away.

Another reason is that I visited this place last year with my family to unwind after working night and day in several months without any true day-offs. We really had a whale of a time together. Also, the weather was simply perfect for my vacation, so generally speaking, it is hardly an exaggeration to call it once-in-a-life-time vacation. I hope that I will have opportunities to visit this Flower Park again.
