In this day and age, it is often argued that financial resources should not be allocated to old properties but rather new houses. I, however, firmly believe that it would be more beneficial to invest in both schemes.

It is understandable why some deem that the maintenance of ancient buildings is of the utmost importance. First of all, it arouses the patriotism of citizens. Remaining the historical relics means preserving the local historical and cultural identification, which, if promoted, could raise the public awareness of the significance of their homeland and motivate them to contribute more to their society. Furthermore, it could foster the national economy as a result. Tourists tend to travel to cultural heritages on account of their curiosity about their origins as well as their respect to current belongings. Therefore, should more money be spent on protecting such antique values, it may attract more foreign visitors, which will boost the domestic economy in general and the national tourism industry in specific.
